Her legacy left us this democracy, and a way of life as we know it. We may have dissatisfactions on the way democracy works, but we definitely are not about to abandon it.
This is what I talked about in Florence, Italy.
More about it, and some of my Italian experience, here. Ciao!
Here’s a show that really lets everyone be who they are — and more. It’s the annual musical-comedy production that ends all productions.
This is the show where five-year old kids learn to shout, “Kiss! Kiss! Kiiiiisssss!” Haha!
Here’s how I caught the disease.
“Give strong drink to him who is perishing, and wine to those who are bitter of heart. Let him drink and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.” - Proverbs 31:6-7 (as shared by an officemate)
At the height of work-related stress, instead of breaking pencils, I’ve developed a habit of standing in the middle of our section and announcing “inom”.
Relief will then come in the form of sympathetic colleagues who would turn from their monitors (bless these good souls) and join me for a round or two of whatever is available — wine, beer, brandy, or tequilla.
Nothing needs to be discussed, serious talk is unnecessary, getting drunk is never the goal (but always a possibility).
The motion of passing the “tagay” around is more than enough — the movement of filling the shot glass or re-filling other people’s glasses could normalize the blood pressure in no time. I could not recall how many times a simple acknowledgment of a rough day or a screwed up moment has saved my sanity.
Others smoke. Some eat.
I, on the other hand, fix a mug of coffee or, if things get a lot rougher, sit down with a bottle of spirits.
You’re welcome to join.
Cheers!

Welcome to rough draft!
There won’t be updates here as most of my musings and what-not get dumped here, so do visit me there when you have the time.
Please be warned, however, that since its first post in May 2004, Chemical Rhapsody has housed some of my most inane and mundane thoughts, so… there.
I started Two Wings originally as a wedding resource site based on how ours turned out — tips, lessons (lots of it!), reviews, etc. — but save for random thoughts on married life, conjugal travels, etc., it’s hardly a resource site yet. Busy busy!
Finally, I contribute “prose, poetry, and tales borne of collective insanity generated by the daily grind and severe absence of that concept called Saturday” at Samahang Walang Sabado, the unofficial site of the SWS Tech group.
Cheers! Blog on!
